Your Role
As a (Senior) Short-Form/Vertical Video Editor (m/f/d), you’ll be independently responsible for the concept development, editing, and performance optimization of our short videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) based on our podcasts, themed videos, and talking-head formats. You’ll work closely with our Social Media Manager to coordinate content plans, quickly capitalize on current trends, and plan content tailored to specific platforms.
- Content Focus: You distill from multifaceted discussions about the economy, society, current events, and finance precisely those key messages that resonate and inspire reflection.
- Performance & Data: Working alongside the social media management team, you'll analyze hook rates, retention curves, and drop-off rates, and use this data to identify specific optimizations for content and format.
Absolutely necessary
- Experience: Several years of verifiable experience in short-form and vertical video editing for social media (portfolio/work samples required).
- Teamwork & Communication: Strong teamwork skills and a desire to work in a young, dynamic team
- Performance Expertise: Confident use of metrics such as hook rate, retention, and completion rate in day-to-day operations.
- Tools: Proficient in DaVinci Resolve (or Adobe Premiere Pro) and popular AI tools such as Opus-Clip.
- A Nose for Trends: You know exactly what's trending on social media right now, and you know how to turn news and hot topics into eye-catching, thumb-stopping short-form content.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken German (including error-free subtitling and text formatting) as well as a good command of English.
- Mindset: You don't just go with the flow; instead, you question established narratives and bring a healthy dose of humor to the table.
Desirable Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop
- Extensive experience with common AI video tools
- Experience with content planning
